    Wagon's HO!

When shopping for a kid's wagon (you've seen the little red or green wagons in the parks) there are some things to keep in mind.

  • Seat belts. Radio flyer and the lower priced walmart wagon have adjustable seat belts. Step 2 and Little Tikes have not.

  • Cup holder. Two is better - one is good. Some have snack holders on the opposite side of the wagon - that's a good thing.

  • Handle. Important! Make sure the handle can fold underneath the wagon so that you can get it in the back of your mini-van.

  • Sturdy wheels. Of course.

  • Bike lock. Sounds weird but if you attach a bike lock where the handle and the wagon connect you can park n' lock the wagon at the park, at a fair, on the street. So many wagons get stolen and they are also a bit cumbersome to take inside the local store. An inexpensive bike lock is really handy to keep on the wagon.

    TV watching

    "Are humans meat?"
    "um, huh, pardon?..."

(Aside; we are, in fact, watching National Geographic "family programming" which is generally about animals. Specifically this show is about predators - lucky us).

"Are humans meat? Chicken is meat right? Humans aren't meat?.."
(Aside; a preditor is currently eating his kill in high definition in our living room. There is no getting out of this conversation.)

"Well, um, if we lived in Africa and a tiger saw us. Yes, it would eat us because - um, well, humans are meat to tigers." (the narrartor is presenting how a kill brings new life for larvae, flies...what have I done to my child?..)

"But we live in Canada. So humans aren't meat."

    "No, humans aren't meat."
