Parent Club Review: Parsnip Designs

Parsnip Designs is a Canadian business (family owned and operated) which designs and creates unique handmade shaker style peg racks and wall plaques.

Their online store offers the choice of nine beautiful colours and six animal designs. You can mix and match the animal tiles to your son or daughter's preference.

The item is packed well and shipped safely to your home. This is a great way to decorate during nap time! No lines, no salespeople - just easy buying.

Parent Club Panel Review:

"The three peg wall rack mounting holes are exactly 16 inches apart - dead on centre for finding studs in any wall! The brackets are solid. I'm impressed! This is a solid piece."(Parent Club Dad)

"It's pretty. I like the bird. The animals aren't scary to me. Now I can hang my pj's all by myself. Watch!"(Parent Club jr. tester, age 5)

"It's a functional, practical piece of art."(Parent Club Mom)

"Can I have one? Me too! Me too!"(Parent Club jr. testers, ages 4, 7 & 8)

Parsnip Designs racks are the perfect gift from a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle. A great idea for a baby shower too! At $28.95 for a single peg rack, $57.98 for a triple peg rack and $19.95 for a wall plack -- these Canadian - handmade - items are a fantastic.

More on Lunch

If you didn't catch the Ideas for School Lunch article - now is the time to read it - click on that link (yes, that one).

We've searched out a few other resources for lunch ideas (for either you or someone school bound this September).

Eat Right Ontario: that link (yes, right there) will take you directly to the school snacks/lunch page. This website also connects you, either by phone or e-mail, with a registered dietician (completely FREE too).

Today's Parent has a Lunch Box Tool which gives you 50 different lunch combinations.

SHHH...PARENT CLUB SECRET: I sent lunch today and remembered later - when I was at the grocery store - that I forgot to butter Thing 2's bagel. Man, I'm gonna hear about that tonight! ;-)

Parent Club is proud to work with Special Olympics Canada to support and sponsor Ben Tinholt, as he trains for the World Winter Games in Boise, Idaho from February 6 to 13, 2009.

Name: Ben Tinholt

Position on Team Canada: Athlete, Floor Hockey

Number of Years Involved in Special Olympics: 10 years

What does it mean for you to be a member of Team Canada?

I was very excited to have gone to the National Games in Quebec City and am now very proud that we have moved on and will be competing at the highest level.

Ben has been to three National Games - one for softball in Prince Albert and two for floor hockey in Ottawa and Quebec City. He has set his goals high for Boise looking to bring back the Gold medal and make his country proud.

He also hopes to meet some new friends while at the World Games. Ben has an excellent attitude towards training and has set a good example for his team mates with respect to training hard and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
