Super Mom Inspiration

Having had one of the suck-iest weeks of parenthood ever...I invite you to share with the Parent Club a phrase, thought or mom-moment to perk us all up. I'll start...

“A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.”

Parent Club Review: NESTEA Vitao

It's was hard to agree to review NESTEA Vitao - as a loyal NESTEA lemon ice tea drinker (what can be better?!).

NESTEA Vitao™ Fuji Apple Green Tea is made from premium whole leaf green tea to extract the plentiful natural tea antioxidants. This light, refreshing tea taste is sweetened with crisp Fuji apple flavour.

NESTEA Vitao™ Açai Blueberry Red Tea is made from the South African Red Bush – rooibos. This mellow tea taste is sweetened with the subtle berry flavours of exotic acai and natural blueberry.

NESTEA Vitao™ Mandarin Orange White Tea is made from hand-picked, rare, immature tea leaf buds, which are minimally processed to preserve their plentiful natural tea antioxidants. This light, delicate tea taste is sweetened with the aromatic flavour of mandarin orange.

The plus, in addition to a refreshing drink is that Vitao products offer natural tea antioxidants, Vitamin C, E and calcium and contain no preservatives.

Hands down favourite of the Parent Club test panel was NESTEA Vitao™ Açai Blueberry Red Tea.

The makers of NESTEA Vitao have recently launched the Release the Goodness campaign*. It gives Canadians an opportunity to share their stories about acts of goodness at www.releasethegoodness.ca. The campaign is to share and inspire about doing an act of goodness for someone without personal gain.

The makers of NESTEA Vitao will give away $5,000 to one winner each month beginning in June and ending in December 2009. The goodness currency will help Canadians to improve their communities, do some good and inspire others to do the same. Enter yourself or nominate someone you know.

Thank blog for cell phones

What would a modern mom do without a cell phone? Not that I use it very often mind you. I have an out-going only policy about my cell phone. I'll call you - don't call me.

'Cause quite honestly - I don't have the sort of life where I need to be reached 24/7. There is no emergency brain surgery waiting for me to perform.

Only 3 or 4 "people" know my cell phone number...my prince, my mom, Thing 1 & Thing 2's school, and wherever Thing 1 & Thing 2 may be on a specific day when I am not with them (i.e. I'll leave it with a mom for a playdate, camp, babysitter). My number is on a need-to-know-basis.

Anywho...the point is cell phones are great devices for parents. It makes us reachable - on our own terms. So here is the question for the day...how often do you use YOUR cell phone?

The story behind this story is that my cell phone rang today (good Ghandi! what's that sound? - oh it's my pocket.) - Camp was calling to tell me Thing 2 had a sore tummy. So, as a good mom - with a good flexible job - I picked said sore-tummied-child-up.
